Britney Spears Throws Temper Tantrum: Delays Flight at LAX

By Jessica Warren

Britney Spears is no fan of pleather. The pop princess was reportedly on a commercial flight at LAX and according to a report threw what sounds like a bit of a temper tantrum when she boarded a plane that did not have leather seats for Britney and her entourage. The former pop starlet reportedly through a fit on the tarmac once she came down the jet way and entered that plane.

According to a report from the New York Post, Britney started ranting about the lack of leather seats on her United Airlines flight from L.A. to Miami Friday night, and demanding to be let off minutes before takeoff.

"She just said, 'I don't want to fly on this plane. It hasn't got leather seats," passenger Tony Sanchez told Splash News. The captain accommodated, later apologizing to passengers. "He said a passenger wanted to get off so he had to respect their wishes. He didn't say it was Britney Spears." Sanchez said. "Some people were getting really annoyed."

Britney was flying to Orlando to continue her lip-synching comeback tour. Spears was to take to the stage in Orlando Saturday for a mini-show she hopes will give her career a much needed boost.

Britney Spears' lip sync disaster?

Britney Spears continues her series of "comeback" mini concerts, and it looks like the lip sync nightmare has happened to Miz Spears.

Perez Hilton is reporting, and GaySocialites.com has been able to confirm that Britney's back-up track containing the words to the songs she was lip syncing skipped Saturday night at the House of Blues in Orlando.

While performing her song “Do Something,”our sources tell us the CD obviously skipped, but according to some GaySocialites in the crowd.... the fans didn't seem to mind too much! I guess the expectations were low.

Poor Britney! She is trying so hard to lip sync her way back to the stage, but Spears is definitely damned. Maybe she should have planned this "comeback" out a little better.

Rumor also has it that Britney delayed the take-off of the plane taking her from Los Angeles to Orlando. Witness on the plane say that Spears stormed off angrily, because the plane didn't have leather seat belts.

It's a rough life when you're bald and crazy.

Topless Britney Spears thanks fans for prayers

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A topless Britney Spears has posted a new message on her Web site (BritneySpears.com) to thank her fans for their prayers "during this trying time."

Alongside a photograph of herself in a blonde wig, posed topless with white-gloved arms crossed over her chest, the pop singer said she was "blessed" to be so cared about.

"The reason for this letter is to let everyone know that their prayers have helped me," Spears wrote.

"I am so blessed that you care enough about me to be concerned and will continue to live in this brighter state with all of you by my side during this trying time.

"We are all lights of the world and we all need to continuously inspire others and look to the higher power. You are all in my prayers. Godspeed. Love Britney."

Spears' professional achievements have been overshadowed by her personal crises in the past year.

The pop singer split up from her second husband, aspiring rapper Kevin Federline, with whom she has two children, and entered rehab for undisclosed problems after a spree of high-profile partying and erratic behavior such as shaving off her hair.

Spears, 25, has not released an album since 2003.

But she is now trying to stage a comeback, performing for the first time in more than three years this month with a series of 15-minute shows at various nightclubs.

She is reportedly recording her fifth album, which she started working on last year with red-hot hitmakers like R&B singer Ne-Yo and Swedish producer Max Martin.

Britney Spears thanks fans for prayers

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Britney Spears wants her fans to know that their prayers have helped her during a difficult time.

"I am so blessed that you care enough about me to be concerned and will continue to live in this brighter state with all of you by my side during this trying time," she wrote in the letter posted Wednesday on her Web site.

"We are all the lights of the world and we all need to continually inspire others and look to the higher power," she added. "You are all in my prayers. Godspeed."

Her publicist did not immediately return an e-mail seeking comment.

The pop princess recently performed what were believed to be her first public concerts in nearly three years. (Watch a shot of Spears at the show )

Her musical comeback comes amid a tumultuous time in which she divorced aspiring rapper Kevin Federline, had a series of run-ins with the paparazzi and checked into rehab.

Meanwhile, Avril Lavigne has slammed Britney Spears again.

Avril Lavigne slams Britney Spears again

Avril Lavigne has slammed Britney Spears again.
The “Complicated” singer says “She has paparazzi at her house every day.”

“Then she does things that are crazy, so everyone talks about it.”

Lavigne, also slammed rival, Mandy Moore.

“I can’t do a Mandy Moore kind of movie, a chick flick,” Lavigne said.

“I have to do like a ‘Girl Interrupted.’ I have to take my time and make the right choices.”

In April, Lavigne furiously denied blaming pop rival BRITNEY SPEARS' recent breakdown on a weak character.
The SK8ER BOI star was quoted in British newspaper The Sun dismissing Spears' headline-grabbing spells in rehab and her bizarre hair-shaving episode earlier this year (07) as examples of celebrities who can't control their fame reports Female First

She allegedly said, "What's happened to Britney is all down to who she is as a person. If you want a piece of this business you have to be able to deal with it. You can't complain about the pressures, the paparazzi, the madness because that's the job."

Pink Blasts Away Again: Britney Spears & Paris Hilton Still 'Stupid'

Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, stupid is as stupid does? Or something like that. At least that appears to be the message from singer Pink. According to Jeannette Walls when Pink was asked how she feels about her peers, such as Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, since she released her single lampooning them, 'Stupid Girls' recently said, "They just get stupider and stupider. But I guess ignorance is bliss." Ouch!

Britney Spears is right now lip-synching her way through a short comeback tour to mixed reviews. Paris Hilton is getting prepared for a 45-day stint (give or take 45 days) in Los Angeles County.

Pink, married to motocross star Carey Hart, mocked Spears earlier when a British tabloid asked her if she was going to have a baby soon. She replied, "(Bleep) no. I'm not gonna do a Britney and pop out some kids. I'm not a (McDonald's) Happy Meal. My husband's got the burger, but he's not getting the fries and shake to go with it."

She also earlier blasted Britney for driving with her son on her lap last year. "She’s always been disgusted by the Mickey Mousers’ values and just doesn’t understand [Britney’s] decision to rush off and have a child so quickly,” says a friend of Pink.

Pink also earlier wrote on her Web site criticizing the "mindless epidemic of unhealthy girls out there promoting consumerism and escapism."

Nude Spears painting 'censored' for Obama

A painting that shows Britney Spears flashing her private parts was covered up in an art gallery before a visit by US Presidential hopeful, Barack Obama.

The politician's aides feared he might be offended by the artwork, by painter Jamie Boling.

So they threw a white sheet over the 6ft by 10ft canvas, titled Snake Charmer.

His campaign team also removed a second painting, called Honest Abe, also by Boling, before the fund-raiser.

It showed a woman in a bright red shirt emblazoned with the slogan "Kill Lincoln" — the reproduction from a character from the 1982 cult movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

Chart star Spears famously showed off her private parts in a paparazzi photo when she got out of Paris Hilton's car without underwear earlier this year.

The painting is a reprduction of that shot.

Democrat senator for Illinois Obama addressed about 500 supporters at the rally, held at Richmond, Virginia's Plant Zero gallery last week.

Campaign spokeswoman Jennifer Psaki did not return calls.

Boling told a US newspaper he was at first unhappy about his art being covered up.

But the artist, who attened the event, added: "The longer I thought about it, I realised what the issue was.

"That space that leads into the event space was going to be used for photography.

"He was a dynamic speaker. He was motivated and he was inspiring."

It comes after Obama, who is trailing his party's fellow White House wannabe Hillary Clinton in the polls, blundered when he accidentally inflated the death toll in the recent Kansas tornado from 12 to 10,000.

He made his campaign gaffe when blaming the Bush administration's over-commitment to Iraq crisis for a lack of fast relief for the area.

Obama, 45, hopes to become America's first black President in the 2008 race for the White House.

Britney Spears Collaborator Says Her LP Is 'About Feeling Good, Celebrating Womanhood'

Don't expect any insight on Britney's breakdown on her forthcoming album — yet another collaborator says the LP will just be about good times.

"She didn't let none of her personal life into what she was doing," Nate "Danja" Hills said. "There was no, 'I need to let it all out.' She said she deals with that in another way."

As one of Britney Spears' main collaborators, Danja has co-written and produced seven to eight songs with the singer so far, in sessions with songwriters Keri Hilson and Corte Ellis. Other songwriters and producers on the yet-untitled effort include Pharrell, Sean Garrett, Scott Storch, Dr. Luke, J.R. Rotem, Ne-Yo, T-Pain and Kara DioGuardi (see "Ne-Yo Gets Frisky With An 'Ex,' Avoids K-Fed Songs For Britney" and "Britney's New Music Is 'The Next Level,' Producer Says"). Danja is a frequent Timbaland collaborator who worked extensively on the latest albums from Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado, among many others (see "Timbaland Protege Danja Makes His Own Noise With DJ Khaled, Trey Songz").

Hills' sessions with Spears started in July — before the divorce, the all-night partying, the head-shaving and rehab (see "Britney Spears, Kevin Federline Reach Divorce Settlement"). He says that despite all the bumps in her personal life, her professional life has remained right on track. "As far as her work ethic, I haven't seen anybody come in like that and do what you go to do," Hills said. "Boom, boom, boom, and get it done. So as an artist? She's ready to go."

Spears' game plan to make a fun, danceable album has also remained steady, Hills said. Instead of scrapping tracks and starting over once her life started changing, the singer stuck to her strategy to keep the tunes as high-energy, uptempo — and decidedly private — as possible. "She wanted to stay away from being personal," the producer said. "It's fun, it's basic and there's nothing wrong with that. It's about feeling good, celebrating womanhood. And if you don't dance to it, I really don't know what you're listening to."

While the song titles have yet to be "100 percent" determined, Hill said that overall, Spears' sound is "bigger" and "more mature" than what we've heard from her before. "It's a new Britney," he said. "I come from hip-hop, so it's underlined with hip-hop, but I throw it down. It's got everything, it's electric, it's just wild." One song sounds like it belongs in a video game, while another has a hook and chorus that makes him laugh just thinking about it: "It's weird! It's catchy, but it's weird. It's hot."

Now that Hills is moving into the mixing stage, he's just waiting to find out if any of his songs are contenders to be the album's first single, which is due to impact around September, according to Spears' record label. "It's ready to hit the clubs," Hills said. "You're going to hear it getting ready to go to the clubs, while you're getting your clothes on, in the car on the way to the clubs, everywhere. You're just going to hear it. Be prepared."

Britney is world's most overexposed

Forbes magazine has issued its annual list of the world's most overexposed celebrities - and guess who's at the top.

The former Mrs Kevin Federline rates No. 1 in a competitive field that includes Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and the late-Anna Nicole Smith's lover Howard K. Stern.

The E-Poll market research company, which ranked more than 3000 celebrities for Forbes, said 72 per cent of the US population would classify Spears as "overexposed", compared with 54 per cent five years ago.

At that time 35 per cent of respondents described her as "talented". Now just 25 per cent do.

In comparison, even at the height of their careers, most celebrities are rated overexposed by just three to seven per cent of respondents.

And while most professional performers disdain the gossip, others - particularly those whose careers are in freefall - actually court it.

You're only a celebrity as long as you’re in the dialogue of popular culture," the chief executive of E-Poll, Gerry Philpott, told Forbes.

"And if you don't have your work, be it a movie or an album, to keep you in that dialogue, you are forced to rely on exposure."

But it's not all bad news for Britney.

"In this country, we love to build people up, tear them down and then build them back up again," Mr Philpott said.

Britney Spears' two-inch hair looks 'hot'

Britney Spears' hair has grown to two inches and looks "hot", according to a backing dancer.

The Toxic singer - who shaved her head after suffering a breakdown, just days before entering a rehab facility - is still wearing wigs, but her dancer doesn't think she needs to.

Backing dancer Crisilla Crossland told the Las Vegas Review-Journal newspaper: "It's grown about two inches and it looks hot. She looks so good she should model. She joked to us 'Would y'all cut your hair?' But none of us have.

"Britney's been rehearsing two new songs and they're amazing."

In between her rigorous workouts at Hollywood's Millennium Dance Complex, Britney dropped into West Hollywood's Bel-Bambini baby boutique with a girlfriend to buy clothes for her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

The 26-year-old spent almost US$1,000 in less than ten minutes, choosing two "Adorable Idol" baby T-shirts and two which read "Don't ya wish your mommy was hot like mine?"

She also bought a US$600 toy plane, and a potty chair.

Britney Spears - Toxic Video Music

Britney Spears Toxic Video

Britney Spears' topless shots

Topless photographs of Britney Spears have appeared on the internet.

The 'Toxic' singer is seen in several shots covering her nipples with bright red flowers and crouching on a rock in a botanical garden.

Britney, who is pictured wearing a fedora, brown wig and sunglasses, posed for the photographs at a friend's house last month, according to Us Weekly magazine.

Meanwhile, Britney's tour bus was stopped by police for speeding before her comeback performance on Tuesday (01.05.07).

Police halted the vehicle at 3pm outside a diner 30 miles north of San Diego, after receiving several 911 calls.

The bus driver - who was driving Britney to San Diego's House of Blues club for her first live performance in almost three years - claims he was trying to get away from pursuing paparazzi.

Police let the driver off with a warning.

Britney continued her mini-tour last night (03.05.07).

She performed a 12-minute set at California's House of Blues in Anaheim, opening her performance with a lip-synched rendition of '...Baby One More Time'.

During her rendition of 'Breathe On Me' she treated one lucky male fan to a raunchy lap dance.

The 25-year-old didn't showcase any new material instead opting to perform her biggest hits, including 'I'm A Slave 4 U' and 'Toxic'.

Fans desperate to see Britney paid up to $500 for tickets with a face value of $35.

Britney is set to appear at Los Angeles' House of Blues tonight (03.05.07) and Las Vegas' House of Blues inside Mandalay Bay on Sunday (06.05.07).

We waited Britney Spears, where were you?

Club owner Jay Siegan stands outside at 10 p.m. Monday, hands on frustrated head. Speakers inside a nearby radio station van blare out the station's broadcast, still promising listeners that Siegan's club, the Red Devil Lounge, will soon become the center of Britney Spears' head-shaving, lip-synching, lap-dancing, hip-shaking universe.
The "show" has already happened over the past week in San Diego, Anaheim, Hollywood and Las Vegas: Britney Spears air-jamming her own greatest hits ... for 14 minutes.

The sidewalk fills with at least 100 people. For Siegan, it's like rising flood water about to burst through his front door. If there's any better indicator his club is closed for the night, it's when someone smashes a beer bottle near the front door. No beefy security guards hustle over to remove the perp. Nothing. The police car parked just up Clay Street doesn't even stir.

If Britney Spears plays the Red Devil Lounge on Monday night, it doesn't happen by 10:30 p.m. That's the same time at least one reporter realizes standing on a sidewalk for hours waiting for Britney Spears to lip-synch for less than 15 minutes could be one of the most pathetic moments of his life. Britney ... you let us down. If you're reading this -- and there's no doubt you are -- you must put down your poodle and understand your failure on a detailed, time-marked basis:

7 p.m.: Three TV trucks and one very loud van from KYLD-FM 94.9 (Wild 94) park at the corner of Polk and Clay. Ten people mill about, not including reporters. A sign hangs on the door of the Red Devil Lounge. "The show on Monday, May 7 is canceled. 100 %. Really. Do not hang out here thinking it's happening. It's B.S."
Wait a second..."It's B.S.," points out one of my intrepid colleagues. "B.S. stands for..." That's right. It's like playing Led Zeppelin Four backwards to hear the coded message. That Britney is a lot cleverer than she looks.

7:20: Siegan walks outside. We can hear "Hit Me Baby One More Time" on the stereo inside. That clinches it. Siegan, dressed in shorts, T-shirt and a hat, smiles as if to say "You have no idea what a great Warriors playoff game you're missing."

7:23: A pigeon drops its business on my new shirt, possibly a harbinger of things to come.

7:30: I interview two twentysomething fans, who admit they have nothing better to do. Stories fly from the radio van that Spears has checked into a local hotel and was seen dining in the area. There's no word whether she has a dog in her purse.

8:15: The crowd grows to about 50 people. Siegan is on the phone, telling a journalist it's not happening. He can't fool us, I tell him. He laughs at me like I'm some pathetic 40-year-old standing on a sidewalk waiting for Britney Spears.

8:52: The radio reports Britney is dining near Polk and Van Ness. Which, of course, means the restaurant encompasses an entire city block, since Polk and Van Ness run parallel. That Britney Spears must really be important, I decide.

9:05: The crowd, now numbering about 75, includes people wearing hats. Violence first rears its ugly head, as someone tears off the bottom of the door sign. The single police cruiser, parking lights ablaze, remains on-station.

9:10: A homeless man arrives, unusually interested in the proceedings. He looks suspiciously like Kevin Federline...

9:16: Radio station stereo plays songs about "big ol' butts."

9:20: My paper's photographer claims she's leaving to put her child to bed. I accuse her of being a traitor to journalism. She stays.

9:31: When Siegan quickly opens the door briefly to come out, a fan reports seeing a bottle of 409 on the bar inside. Wait a second ... Britney Spears hates germs, doesn't she?

Just then "Federline" walks by again. Maybe not.

9:42: My left leg falls asleep.

9:57: Radio van stereo plays "Hit Me Baby One More Time," for the 749th time since 7 p.m.. The crowd stirs. People start singing. Disaster looms.

10:01: A young girl blurts "Omigod, I'm gonna, like, cry is she doesn't show up." I ask the girl her name. She says it's "Britney Spears." I end the conversation immediately.

10:02: Rumors swirl that Britney has decided to play somewhere in the Castro, which, someone remarks, makes sense, considering the lack of Britney Spears impersonators at our site. They must know something we don't.

10:15: Siegan still contends there was never, to his knowledge, any Britney Spears show scheduled for his club. I ask him what he'll do if she shows up.

He laughs nervously "I don't know. Open, I guess. Do a soundcheck..."

10:30: As the crowd swells to more than 100, the truth dawns on me. I'm hungry, tired, and no lip-syncher is worth standing here all night.

Britney, I'll be back if you sing for real.

Britney Spears to duet with Marilyn Monroe?

Britney Spears may sing a duet with late screen icon Marilyn Monroe.

The troubled star plans to boost her ailing career by performing with the movie icon - who died more than four decades ago - on a previously unreleased Marilyn song called Down Boy.

Lance Bass, 28, a former member of Britney's ex-lover Justin Timberlake's band *NSYNC, has reportedly secured the rights to the song and thinks it would be perfect for Britney.

A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Lance wants Britney to sing with Marilyn on the track, like Natalie Cole did on Unforgettable with her dad Nat King Cole."

Plans are already in place for the Toxic singer to don a platinum Marilyn-esque wig and dress like the glamour icon, when they shoot the video.

Screen and music goddess Marilyn died of an overdose aged 36 in 1962. Despite being one of the most successful women of her generation, the star was believed to have battled numerous personal demons.

Mother-of-two Britney, 25, recently spent a month in rehab following a bout of excessive partying and worrying behaviour, which included shaving off her hair.

The singer is currently working on a new album planned for release in October and has been furiously exercising to regain her famously toned figure.
